Meet Pastor Christina Bennett

My name is Christina Bennett, but you can call me Christy.  I am the pastor here at Benson Chapel!  Welcome!  I’m so glad that you are checking out our church!  Let me take this opportunity to share a bit about myself and the church with you.  I’m from Lafayette, IN.  My husband, Mike, and I have been married for twenty years.  Our son, Sammy, just turned four and is our joy-filled answer to prayer to grow our family.  He is full of energy and has a smile that will melt your heart!  I am a bi-vocational pastor which means I have a full-time job on top of being a pastor.  I’m currently still working for Tippecanoe School Corporation overseeing the 1:1 laptop program and teaching students how operate and manage a live helpdesk.  My husband works in engineering at Caterpillar.  In our spare time we like to go for bike rides, spending time in nature, traveling and exploring new places, and hanging out with people.

Out of my job grew a desire to help people come to know Christ and grow closer to God.  From there a passion began to stir in me to serve God more fully; surrendering my will to His and following where He leads.  I am now a licensed local pastor and am currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies from Indiana Wesleyan University.  I have been filling pulpits off and on for the last two years.  This is my first appointment.  I am humbled to be given this opportunity to serve as your pastor.  I am also eager to see what God has in store for us as we strive to know Him better, grow in relationship with Him, and seek to be His hands and feet where He has planted us.

We hope that you will join us this Sunday for Sunday School at 9:30am followed by Church Services at 10:30 am.  We have a nursery available for children 0-5 years of age during both our worship service and our Sunday school hour.  Children 6 and up can enjoy their own children’s church while the big kids (that’s us adults) worship together.  We understand that visiting a new church can be a bit intimidating, but we want to make your visit as welcoming as possible.  Please let us know if there is anything we can do to accommodate you.  We look forward to meeting you!
